Isn't it strange how a 20 rupee note seems like such a large amount when
you donate it to temple, but such a small amount when you go shopping?
Isn't it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you're at the Temple ,
and how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?
Isn't it strange that you can't find a word to say when you're praying,
but you have no trouble thinking what to talk or gossip about with a friend?
Isn't it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter
of the Bhagwad Gita, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel ?
Isn't it strange how everyone wants front-row-tickets to concerts or games, but they do whatever is possible to sit at the last rowat the TEMPLE or Bhajans and Prayers?
Isn't it strange how we need to know about an event for Temple 2-3
weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda, but we can
adjust it for other events in the last minute?
Isn't it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about God to share it with others, but how easy
it is to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip?
Isn't it strange how we believe everything that magazines and newspapers
say, but we question the words in our Ramayan and Bhagwad Gita?
Isn't it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven, but they don't want
to believe, do, or say anything to get there?
Isn't it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are forwarded right away,
but when we are going to send messages about God, we think about it twice before we share it with others?

Everyone is entangled in the worldlyness so much that there is no time for 'Vivek' ... This is why Guru is required to show the path of freedom ... this freedom is from the worldlyness - it means going closer to chaitanya within.
let me relieve you of your trauma by answering all your questions...
1. even a rupee donated to the temple is bad... they already have millions of patrons who donate billions of rupees and all gets eaten up by the poojaris... instead go shopping that way you improve the economy and all the poor and needy workers get paid and don't have to resort to begging in front of temples...
2. movies these days are worst than a temple... people get bored in movies too...
3. when you pray you don't have to say anything... If God is omnipotent, he already knows everything you would ever want to say to him... friends on the other hand are not God :(
4. Gita in its original form is very difficult to understand for a common man... but I know so many people who do read translations and perform an in-depth study of the book and many people esp in India don't even read... they are all too lazy...
5. God is everywhere, if you really want to see Him, He is within you, you don't need front row seats to see him properly...
6. Temple is always going to be there... God is always there with us... Events only happen once in a few years...
7. What facts do you want to share about God which people don't already know?
8. I hope you know that Ramayan is also an epic (a poetic novel) basically, and Bhagwad Gita is part of Mahabharata which also is an epic... All are written by humans, so all may be wrong at some point or the other... plus questioning is good... shows that you are interested in a topic...
9. Do you even know if heaven or hell exits? why don't you enjoy your life right here and make this earth a heaven for yourself... better enjoy heaven alive than after death...
10. All forwarded emails about God are a scam... No God is mad enough to do something bad to you if you don't forward any emails about it... if the emails are that interesting, they will get forwarded no matter what...
I hope the world is little less strange for you now.
To the commenter above me: Even the Gurus these days are entangled in worldliness, who will show them the path of 'Vivek'?? If people weren't entangled in worldliness, this blog, your comment or any of the internet or computers wouldn't have existed... You are living in this world... Worldliness is important to survive...
